Linkspans / Pontoons
With our engineering expertise, we can build linkspans, which are large steel structures that act like bridges between large ships and the quay wall.
The inner side of the linkspan is hinged off the quay wall and the outer end is operated with a horizontal buoyancy tank that can be ballasted or pumped underneath to ensure the correct working height for vessels coming alongside it.
A pontoon is a floatation device with enough buoyancy to float itself and another vessel such as a boat, raft, barge or hovercraft. We design and build pontoons in-house from steel to suit each operational requirement.
